For educational purposes and appreciation of history, numerous GPS enabled smartphone apps have been created.  These apps have been featured on the front page of The State Newspaper and on ABC and FOX television stations in Columbia and Charleston, SC. Select  an app below for more information:

The apps have also been succesfully tested on the iPhone (version 11 and higher) Safari browser. If you would like to use the GPS feature, just press the "Allow" button when asked: Allow "Safari" to use you location? Then, press the "Allow" button at: "historysoft.com" would like to use your current location. Note: In 2020, some versions of Android require you to give change the default location permissions to allow for this GPS feature to work. Please see the instructions at the bottom on how to make this "Settings" change.

If the GPS feature does not work (after the GPS button is changed to "GPS is now on"),
perform the following steps from your phone's main "Settings" page.
