Fort Congaree II

Recreated in Virtual Reality

Experience the Fort as it was in 1756 and, while at it, have fun playing random scavenger hunts.

intro

In 1748, in response to deadly Indian attacks against the first South Carolina backcountry settlers, the palisaded British outpost Fort Congaree II was built. After being lost and forgotten for 250 years, it was recently found through historical research and archaeology and now brought back to life in Virtual Reality.

See Fort Congaree II as it was in 1756 and experience this important part of our Colonial American history. You can also try your hand at a random selection of scavenger hunt items (with clues). While visiting the fort, don't forget to stop by the dig expedition museum, on the stockade grounds, to learn more about how Fort Congaree II was brought back to life.
