Fort Granby - 3D Placement

Below: A nice but not accurate painting of Fort Granby. The fort was not this close to the river and the Congaree river is much wider than this. Also, Friday's Ferry was 3/4 a mile down river from the fort in the town of Granby.



Put on your 3D glasses and see where the fort would be today (it's about 160 feet above an edge of the Cayce Quarry). We know its exact position because it was still standing in 1939 when the first aerial photos of the area were taken. Below are 3D pictures of the Fort's position from different views.
