Pit 3: Level 2

Completed June 18, 2012. Pit 3: Level 2 produced: 11 nails, 19 pieces of pottery, 40 pieces of old glass. Too much brick to count. Wow! All these nails made me wonder if these were nails bought by the Hampton brothers at the Congarees Store (see image). Just like level 2 of pit 2, the second level of pit 3 was huge in artifact recovery. On this level, we had Fred Morrison, Odess Brinkman, Jeremy Brinkman, Dean Hunt and David Brinkman.
