Pit 98: Level 1

Completed October 9, 2016 by David and Odess Brinkman, and DC Locke. This was a post Hurricane Matthew dig. Despite about 5 inches of rain (the day before), a tarp over the pit area kept things dry enough to dig and sift. Once again, between the Judas and Magnolia trees, we had a lot of roots to deal with. Just like the adjacent pit 97, there was not much in the way of artifacts except what looks like a few small pieces of Native American pottery.

Pit 98: Level 1 produced: 1 stoneware piece, 2 pieces of glass, 3 Native American pieces, and 2 charcoal pieces.
